Many of us think that on Rosh Hashanah we have to make ourselves perfect.
We think that if we can›t make ourselves perfect, or declare that we›re going
to be perfect, then we have nothing to do on Rosh Hashanah. That is a big Teshuvah Now
mistake! Hakadosh Baruch Hu knows that we are human; He knows we make
mistakes. What he wants to hear from us is that our inner desire is to serve here is a Machlokes Tanna’im as to whether Menashe, the son of
Him. Hashem wants to hear from us that we want to do good, that we want to Chizkiyahu, has a share in Olam Haba. The Tanna Kama says he does
be able to give nachas to Him. When Hakadosh Baruch Hu sees that, then He T not, while Rabbi Yehudah says he has a share in Olam Haba for his
will, in turn, give us everything we need to be able serve Him – and He will repentance was accepted (Sanhedrin 90a). The Yerushalmi in Sanhedrin (10:9),

                hooks.

They fashioned a copper cauldron, placed Menashe inside, and lit a fire
beneath it. Finding himself in distress, Menashe called out to every avodah
zarah in the world. When it was to no avail, he said he remembered that his
father Chizkiyahu – about whom the Gemara writes (Sanhedrin 94a) that he
was fitting to be Moshiach but he did not sing shirah to Hashem – used to read
to him the pesukim in Parashas Va’eschanan (4:30-31), “In your distress, when all
things come upon you at the end of days, you will return unto Hashem your
G-d and listen to His Voice. For Hashem, your G-d, is a merciful G-d; He will
not abandon you nor destroy you, and He will not forget the covenant of your
forefathers that He swore to you.”
Menashe says he will call out to Hashem; if He answers me, very well; if not,
they are all the same. The Malachei Hashareis closed all the windows of Shamayim
so that Menashe›s prayer would not ascend before Hashem, the Holy One,
Blessed is He. They said, “Will You accept the teshuvah of one who placed an
image [an idol] in the Beis Hamikdash?”

Hashem answered them, “If I do not accept his repentance, I will be closing
the door before all those sinners who want to do teshuvah.” Then Hashem
made an opening for Menashe beneath The Throne of Glory and accepted
him. The passuk in Divrei Hayamim II (33:13) says, “And He brought him back
to Yerushalayim to his kingdom,” meaning Hashem brought Menashe back to
